Training Program Available

All who register for the Woodstock Duathlon are eligible to participate in a free training program brought to you by Fast Finish Coaching.  This 5-week program will be led by Steve Van Horn, USAT Certified Level 1 Coach, and will begin August 17.  The program will feature:

training rides    run workouts    racing tips    course familiarization    race preparation
transition techniques                safety          nutrition                       race recovery

Short course - 2K Run, 20K Bike, 2K Run

Long course - 10K Run, 40K Bike, 5K Run

Course Description

Short Course (2K Run, 20K Bike, 2K Run)

Run (2K) - Both stages of the run will be held entirely within beautiful Emrickson Park. The scenic asphalt network of trails within the park varies from flat to rolling hills. There will be one fluid station after 1K. Short course run map

Bike (20K) - The bike course will be on gently rolling hills southwest of the park. There will be no water stations on the bike course. Marshals will be monitoring for illegal drafting. Helmets are required as per ANSI and USAT Standards. Short course bike map

Transition - All stages will start and finish inside the park. The transition area is common for the both the short and long course.The area will be fenced and access will only be allowed for competitors before, during and after the race. Transition area will open at 5:00 am. Transition area map.

Long Course (10K Run, 40K Bike, 5K Run)

Stage 1 Run (10K) - Stage 1 is an extremely challenging run with rolling hills held outside the park south and southwest. There will be 2 water stops. Long course stage 1 run map

Bike (40K) - The bike course will be on rolling hills southwest of the park. On the bike course, there are two 5-10 minute climbs which are challenging. There will be no water stations on the bike course. There are marshals will be monitoring for illegal drafting. Helmets are required as per ANSI and USAT Standards. Long course bike map

Stage 2 Run (5K) - Stage 2 run will be held entirely within the Park. There will be one fluid station. Long course stage 2 run map

Participant divisions

  • Age groups - 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
  • Athena - Female participants over 150 lbs (39 years and under, 40 years and older)
  • Clydesdale - Male participants over 200 lbs (39 years and under, 40 years and older)
  • Relay teams - 2  people. All male, mixed gender or all female
  • Elite - To qualify you must present elite/pro USAT card on race day

Note - Racers can only enter one division

Short Course (2K , 20K , 2K)

  • Overall  - Top 3 male and female finishers
  • Age groups - Top 2 in each age category
  • Relay teams - Top team in each category
  •  

    Long Course (10K , 40K , 5K)

  • Overall  - Top 3 male and female finisher
    • Age groups - Top 2 in each age category
    • Athena/Clydesdale - Top 1 in each category
    • Relay teams - Top team in each category

Sept 8 Deadline for receiving mail in entries
